From an escape to a rescue.
The project began as Rebel Escape. It became Pet Rescue when we shifted the goal toward rescuing companions taken by the Empire.
That change gave the adventure a more personal objective. Players had someone to recover and a clear reason to keep moving through the story.
Companions with a part to play.
Rescued companions became part of the game’s systems. Players could develop them and bring bonuses into the next challenge, including regeneration, movement speed, and critical damage.
The rescue premise carried through to what happened after each mission: the companions you brought home could help with what came next.
The idea shaped the production.
WePlayFN developed the concept, adventure flow, companion progression, and supporting systems. The project also provided a technical foundation for later studio work, including K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Progression beyond the rescue.
The mission and companion systems reinforce one another: recover a companion, develop it, and use its bonuses in the next challenge. That connection gives the rescue objective a continuing role in gameplay.
The same supporting systems became a foundation for later studio work. Read about our game design and technical production.
A reason to join the story.
For a campaign, the player’s objective deserves as much attention as the setting. We look for an action people can understand and care about—one that connects naturally to the brand or property.
